ABERDEEN-BASED drilling specialist Norwell Engineering said yesterday it had completed more than 100 major projects in the 20 years since being set up.
Norwell says it is the longest-running independent drilling project-management group and well-engineering consultant in Europe.
The firm, which employs 20 people, has worked for more than 70 client companies, including oil majors, in virtually every oil and gas industry location, from Alaska to Australia and China to Congo.
Recent projects include drilling off Lybster for Caithness Petroleum.
Norwell managing director Iain Adams said: “Reaching our 20th anniversary as an independent is a real milestone for us.
“In that time, we have managed more than 100 major projects and our guys have worked on hundreds more.
“We now have broad client and geographical bases with a wealth of retained experience, which puts us on a very strong footing for the next 20 years.
“Our aim for the coming year is to secure additional work in the North Sea as well as continue to build on our established international expertise.”
Norwell chairman Ken Fraser said: “We have operated the company in a traditional style for 20 years, avoiding over-expansion in the industry upturns and always working with a positive cash-flow model.
“We have had an established graduate training programme for the last 11 years, which has meant we have been able to build a skilled, homegrown team of engineers.”
