A NORTH-EAST supplier of offshore accommodation modules and containers for the international energy industry yesterday reported record growth in 2007.
Ferguson Group revealed that turnover rose by 45% to £28million-plus, while pre-tax profits surged by nearly 39% to more than £8.5million. The group invested almost £15million in a fleet expansion programme for its modular and container divisions last year, boosting its fleet to 10,000-plus containers and more than 200 modules to meet unprecedented levels of demand from clients worldwide.
More than 130 people are employed across its operations – at its Inverurie HQ and at 10 locations worldwide – covering all major global oil and gas centres.
Managing director Steven Ferguson said: “There are huge opportunities on offer in the energy sector globally and our focus over the last 12 months has been on growing our international operations to give our customers the best possible service.
“This is the first time we have reported our results as a group as a whole and we are doing so to reflect more fully the global nature of our organisation today.
“We aim to continue to grow over the coming year and have set the divisions in the group ambitious, achievable targets for structured expansion. We will support this with investments of more than £60million across the divisions over the next three years.”
Mr Ferguson said clear opportunities had been identified in the renewables sector and the decommissioning market for further growth well into the future.
