US oil and gas giant ExxonMobil has announced the award of a “multi-million” deal at its Mossmorran facility to engineering firm Bilfinger.
The German company will provide preventative maintenance at both ExxonMobil’s Fife Ethylene Plant (FEP) at Mossmorran and the Braefoot Bay tanker terminal.
It is a seven-year contract.
ExxonMobil described the deal as a “multi-million pound agreement” but would not disclose the exact contract amount.
The Bilfinger deal will see around 55 personnel transferring to Fife.

Last week, Exxon’s Mossmorran bosses announced a £140 million investment in the plant to reduce flaring.
The petrochemical giant has come under increasing pressure to tackle flaring at the plant in recent years.
The work will create 850 temporary jobs over the next 12 months.

“ExxonMobil’s Fife Ethylene Plant operates under the most demanding of engineering standards and it is vital that we chose a contractor with the knowledge, expertise and innovative solutions to ensure these are met the first time, every time.
“Many contract personnel have worked with us for a long time and have extensive knowledge of the plant. We are delighted they will transfer over to the new supplier and continue their relationship within FEP.”
