Aberdeen-headquartered Forth Inspection Service has changed its name and expanded its service offering.
Now called Forth Inspection Group (FIG), the company has added non-destructive testing (NDT) validation and training to its existing consultancy offering.
FIG has invested £50,000 in new NDT equipment to help it offer the new services, which have been the subject of demand from places like Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
FIG owner and director Darren Kinsella, who will head up the new NDT validation and training division, said: “The demand for more application specific training has increased in recent years due to the heightened workload in the oil and gas sector.
“Additionally, there has been a significant requirement for more advanced inspection methods and I believe our specific training on corrosion resistant alloys – flange face corrosion and bolt inspection – meets the demand for this type of training.”
