Wood Group Engineering & Production Facilities Brasil, said yesterday it had won a five-year contract in Brazil worth around £36.4million.
The company, which is part of Aberdeen-headquartered international energy services company John Wood Group, said it had been selected by StatoilHydro to provide operations, maintenance and modification services for two Peregrino wellhead platforms.
The scope of work under the contract includes both offshore services and onshore support, and covers all production processes and equipment except drilling services.
The project will be managed by Wood Group Brasil’s existing management team, and more than 50 local workers will be hired for operations, maintenance, engineering and other positions.
Wood Group has operated in Brazil since 2002 and has supported the Peregrino project, StatoilHydro’s first in Brazil, throughout its development.
Subsidiary Mustang provided engineering and procurement services for the two platforms.
Wood Group companies have also provided subsea, riser, mooring and pipeline engineering, commissioning services, documentation, and 20 surface pumps that are on the two platforms for water injection.
Following the successful completion of the facilities design, Mustang has also been awarded the follow-on engineering for the project during its installation and commissioning phases.
