AN ABERDEEN man has left the comfort of an energy service company to start up a new specialised rental and inspection business.
Iain Howe hopes his new company, ReelPower, can capitalise on strong market conditions in the North Sea.
It aims to specialise in the provision of high-pressure, high-temperature flow iron or temporary pipework.
Mr Howe – a former rifle instructor – spent 10 years working with BJ Completion Assembly Services, most recently as head of business development. He said: “It is a very exciting time to be starting a company that caters to the North Sea. Significant exploration is predicted in the region this year and I feel that ReelPower can make the most of the many opportunities available in the area.”
Mr Howe said the firm, based at the Riverview Business Centre, had received an inquiry from a “major oilfield service” group for work on 10 offshore locations, “a great sign of things to come”.
