ABERDEEN mechanical service company EnerMech said yesterday it had invested £10million in new facilities and equipment in Australia.
It comes as part of its plans to extend its reach in the Asia Pacific oil and gas industry.
The expansion follows the successful roll-out down under of the company’s main service lines.
A new 34,500sq ft facility in Midvale, near Perth, Western Australia, has been opened.
There is also a new office, housing 12 staff, in Sale, Victoria, on the back of a five-year crane maintenance contract with Esso.
EnerMech managing director Doug Duguid said: “The Australian hydrocarbon market is in the midst of massive investment and development. We have more than 40 full-time staff based in Australia and expect to more than treble our business there in the next two years.”
EnerMech, which employs 800 people, mostly in Aberdeen, is forecasting rapid growth across all its service lines in the UK and abroad over three years.
