TULLOW Oil said yesterday that appraisal drilling on the giant Jubilee oil field offshore Ghana had confirmed a southern extension of the field and encountered three reservoir zones.
Angus McCoss, exploration director of the British company, which has a 22.896% interest in the Kosmos Energy-operated field, said the latest work took it another step closer to realising the full potential of the Greater Jubilee Area.
He added: “Results from the current exploratory appraisal campaign are being integrated to define the resource base and the future phases of development beyond first oil in the fourth quarter of 2010.”
