A MAJOR survey of health and safety within the oil & gas industry is being conducted by Robert Gordon University’s Aberdeen Business School.
Energy considers this work to be so important that it is supporting the project by bringing it to the attention of the wider industry.
The survey can be accessed directly online at:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/AVEVA_Information_Research
and should take no longer than 10-15 minutes to complete.
It was commissioned by AVEVA and is designed to provide a picture of how major events, as well as the day-to-day running of plant operations, have impacted on the way health and safety information is managed.
The project aims to gather an in-depth understanding of:
o The role and importance of health and safety within the organisation
o An organisation’s safety performance and how it is measured
o What challenges are faced to improve safety and how they are addressed
o How safety improvements are identified and communicated
o How health and safety-related information is stored, shared and managed
It is anticipated that the research will provide a key insight into the role of information management within the industry, and the strategies being developed by international organisations to integrate and improve their systems.
The findings will be presented at Aberdeen Business School on September 1 this year, and will become available via the AVEVA website shortly.
RGU has stated that all information will be held in the strictest of confidence and will not be attributed to any one respondent or organisation.
AVEVA, an engineering design and information management solutions provider to the oil & gas sector, will donate $10 to the Red Cross Disaster Fund for each survey that is completed.
