THE Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has granted Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) clearance to use the semi-submersible West Alpha for exploration work offshore Norway.
The PSA’s consent covers use of the rig for the Svaneogle exploration well to be drilled on block 17/6, 110km south-west of Haugesund.
Drilling should be under way by the time this appears in print and is expected to last for 45 days or so.
The project will be managed by Aberdeen company Senergy.
Noreco operates block 17/6 and the Svaneogle well with a 50% interest. Partners are Spring Energy (30%) and Petoro (20%).
