ABERDEEN well-intervention and completion specialist, Wireline Engineering, has announced changes at board level to help to sustain the growth which has seen it expand its markets into more than 50 countries.
Bill Petrie, newly appointed as managing director, said: “Wireline has enjoyed exceptional growth in recent years, transforming from a local engineering company to an international provider of specialist products.
“Strengthening our management team allows us to meet the challenge of running an expanded operation and ensures we are equipped for continued development.”
Mr Petrie was previously general manager and director of business development, having joined Wireline in 2003.
Neil Hall, a co-founder of Wireline, becomes director of technology in a move allowing him to focus on maint-aining technical standards and the challenge of ensuring the progr-essive development of new technologies.
The contrib-ution to the company’s expansion by Alistair Inglis is recognised in his appointment as finance director. He joined as finance manager in 2006.
Wireline was established in 1998 to service the North Sea oil and gas industry and in 2004 decided to enter the international arena, since when the workforce has more than doubled to almost 50, while turnover has increased fourfold to £6million-plus.
