INSPECTION and non-destructive testing specialist Applus RTD has appointed Neil Hannah as regional director for north-west Europe.
Mr Hannah will divide his time between the company’s Aberdeen, Falkirk, Teesside and Great Yarmouth offices and will oversee the firm’s operations in the UK and Scandinavia, including in the North Sea.
He joins Applus – whose services include inspection, maintenance, repair and consultancy in the oil and gas exploration and production industry – from the British Standards Institution (BSI), where he was global certification director.
Applus, which employs more than 4,000 people in 37 countries, also confirmed that North Sea offshore projects operations director Bengt Eide had left the company and his duties would be fulfilled by Mr Hannah until a replacement was found.
Mr Hannah, 56, who is originally from Glasgow, said: “Applus RTD has a global reputation for excellence – our technical specialists are recognised as the leading experts in their field, with a track record in multiple sectors, all of which are under pressure to improve efficiency and cut cost.”
Mr Hannah added his experience at BSI would be important in his new role as Applus’s clients aim to continue operating profitably while minimising health and safety risks.
