There was both good and bad employment news for the north-east oil industry yesterday.
Up to 300 jobs are expected to be created in the area as part of major worldwide expansion plans by oilfield engineering service group Aker Solutions.
But it came as Canadian Natural Resources (CNR) International reportedly told its staff that up to 300 jobs could be “destroyed” by Chancellor George Osborne’s £10billion North Sea tax grab.
