E-LEARNING specialist Atlas Interactive has a new chief executive.
It has appointed John Rowley to the post to capitalise on opportunities for growth, particularly in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and UK.
Following private equity investment from HG Capital in 2007, Aberdeen-based Atlas is aiming to double its sales over the next four years.
Mr Rowley has more than 20 years international management experience gained in blue-chip companies based in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
He has joined Atlas from global laboratory services company Eurofins, where he was managing director for the group’s forensics and genetics business.
Mr Rowley said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Atlas.
“The company’s growth has been fuelled by the increasing demand in the oil and gas industry for flexible, innovative learning tools that provide high standards of learning and training in the fundamentals of safety and competency.
“With our global oil and gas client base there is significant potential for international growth, particularly in the emerging markets where access to quality training is an issue.”
Founded in 1995, Atlas provides e-learning courses that deliver accelerated skills development and knowledge transfer to the global oil and gas industry.
More than 350,000 people in over 35 countries are currently benefiting from the e-learning training provided by Atlas.
The company employs around 50 people and, outwith Aberdeen, has offices in the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
Jamie Bennett, the founder and chief executive of Atlas, left the business at the end of last year.
