ABERDEEN performance-improvement specialist Exceed revealed an achievement milestone of its own yesterday.
It reported turnover of £1.5million for 2008-09 after only four years in business.
Founder and owner Ian Mills, who has nearly 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, has also expanded Exceed’s team to 14 people: six based in Aberdeen, with other performance coaches in continental Europe, Africa and North America also helping to cut costs and improve operational efficiencies for clients including BP, Talisman and De Beers.
Targets for the year ahead include securing new work in deepwater oil and gas locations such as Brazil and west Africa, plus for burgeoning industries in the Far East and, closer to home, Norway and the UK continental shelf.
Mr Mills said: “With the price of oil where it is, now is the time to focus on waste and cost reduction and to be as lean and efficient as possible. External factors such as the amount of oil in place or the price of oil are out of our control, but the work we do directly impacts the timing of production and the cost of extraction.”
He has also set up charitable venture the Exceed Trust, where 10% of the firm’s profits go to help children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
