Australian-owned Dart Energy has achieved independent reserved certification for its Scottish licence PEDL 133 coalbed methane asset near Airth.
The firm has also agreed a five-year gas sales agreement for production from the asset with Scottish and Southern Energy.
Some £20million has been spent by the firm on the site, with 14 coalbed methane exploration and development wells drilled.
