TAM International North Sea said yesterday it was investing about £1.8million in expanding its Aberdeen operation.
The firm is a subsidiary of TAM International, an oilfield service company that provides inflatable and swellable packers and downhole products and services.
It employs 35 people at its West Tullos base, in the Granite City and expects to add several more workers over the next three years.
TAM is also planning facilities including a new warehouse area.
Steven Scott, vice-president of operations for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, said: “We have recently seen particularly significant growth in Norway, west Africa and Russia and we see Aberdeen as vital for the development of our business in those key regions.
“The investment in Aberdeen is part of our wider global strategy.”
