OFFSHORE logistics company ASCO is to expand its Houston operations.
The Aberdeen firm is to open a new office and warehouse facility close to George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
ASCO said the new office would complement services already offered out of its port facilities on the Houston Ship Channel.
Its freight-management teams operate from offices in Aberdeen, Calgary and Houston, and are supported by a network of agents worldwide.
Michael Higgins, general manager in Houston, said: “The Gulf of Mexico is a region of strategic importance for us.
“The Gulf maintains a very large oil and gas production market that continues to expand. We have established clear arrangements with operators in the area to provide a complete service for them.
“Increasing operations, including drilling and offshore production, generate more demand for logistic services and this is where ASCO can continue to offer its expertise, not only for long-term oil giants operating in this area but also for companies entering the Gulf of Mexico for the first time. Having a presence at OTC means we are more accessible to clients and other companies that may require a turnkey logistics solution.”
