A former pupil at Mackie Academy in Stonehaven is taking another big step up the career ladder at Hunting.
The London-headquartered energy service firm said yesterday that Bruce Ferguson – currently its managing director for Europe, the Middle East and West Africa – was to become group finance director from April 15.
Mr Ferguson has been in his current role with Hunting Energy Services International, a group subsidiary based in Portlethen, near Aberdeen, since January 2011. Before that he was finance director at the division.
His latest step up the ranks of senior management at the FTSE 250-listed group is subject to shareholder approval.
It follows a decision by the current group finance director, Peter Rose, to retire at the end of the company’s annual general meeting in April.
Hunting chairman Jay Glick said: “The board thanks Peter for his commitment and contribution to the group over the past 23 years and particularly during his 12 years as finance director.
“Bruce brings considerable experience and knowledge to the board, having been with the company for 26 years.”
