ABERDEEN oil service company Rubberatkins has announced a £250,000 investment in new equipment.
The firm has bought four compression machines and automated shotblast equipment to increase and modernise production of its elastomer components.
Rubberatkins will also be purchasing additional laboratory equipment and expanding its testing capabilities.
This investment follows a period of significant growth for Rubberatkins which saw the company take ownership of £3million purpose-built premises at Aberdeen Science and Technology Park last July.
The new facility provides the company with twice the amount of space of its previous base at Altens, with 12,500 square feet of factory space and 5,500sq ft of offices across two storeys.
Director Nick Atkins said: “We design, manufacture and test our products and our customers’ products in-house.
“The purchase of the new equipment will provide us with additional capacity, while also improving product quality and reliability. It will also allow us to retire some of our older machines.
“We have also ordered larger machines which will enable us to mould bigger, more complex, rubber-to-metal bonded components.”
Established in 1988, Rubberatkins employs 70 people and has offices in Aberdeen and Houston.
