Oil and gas firm Valiant Petroleum has been given the green light by the Department of Energy and Climate Change to develop the UK North Sea Causeway field.
The field – in the northern North Sea – is to be developed through two wells, one production and one water injection, tied back to Taqa Bratani’s Cormorant platform.
Canada-based Antrim, which has a 35.5% stake in the field, said today output would be exported to the Sullom Voe terminal.
Development costs are estimated at £32million net to Antrim, with first oil expected mid-2012, the firm added.
Average production for the first 12 months is estimated at a total 8,400 barrels of oil per day.
