A US oil and gas equipment company said yesterday it was growing its Scottish workforce by 240.
Houston-based FMC Technologies plans to add 170 manufacturing and research and development jobs at Bellshill and 70 at Dunfermline.
The expansion is supported by £2.5million of regional selective assistance through Scottish Enterprise and takes the firm’s Scottish workforce to nearly 1,000.
FMC, which has Aberdeen operations specialising in subsea systems, employs about 12,500 people globally and operates 27 production sites across 16 countries.
Aberdeenshire shortbread-maker Deans of Huntly said yesterday it had appointed its first finance director. Heather Thompson, above, who moved to the firm from Turriff-based meat processor Kepak Buchan in 2003, has been promoted from finance controller to the new position.
