COSALT Offshore said yesterday it had been awarded ISO 14001 certification in recognition of its commitment towards looking after the environment.
The Aberdeen-based business provides lifting, tooling and marine services to the oil and gas industry.
Cosalt Offshore said that, with environmental impact a key concern for the entire offshore industry, this certification was part of a long-term corporate commitment to sustainable development.
Sandy Gowing, managing director of Cosalt Offshore’s compliance division, said: “Environmental issues are moving further up the business agenda every day and it was important to us to exceed industry norms and achieve best practice across our operations to limit our environmental impact.
“ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard and extremely highly regarded. Achieving the certification is one of our biggest successes this year.
“The work we put into reaching the standard has already helped us become more aware of the impact we have on our environment and has improved our performance as a company.”
Cosalt Offshore has 300 people based at its headquarters in Aberdeen and a further 110 at its operations in Stavanger and Lowestoft, with plans to take on an additional 50 people over the next year.
