Aberdeen-based energy service company RBG has appointed Wayne Henderson as its new commercial and sales director.
He joins with more than 15 years’ experience in senior engineering, commercial and sales positions.
Most recently, he was commercial director for GlaxoSmithKline (Glaxo).
RBG chief executive Dave Workman said: “We are delighted to have Wayne on board. His extensive commercial expertise will be invaluable as we accelerate our global growth plans and bring our integrated offering to new markets.
“We are expanding our international business and I am sure that Wayne’s experience of delivering significant growth in new regions will make this a success.
“Wayne is the latest in a number of recent senior management additions and we now have a stronger team capable of accelerating growth.”
Mr Henderson, said: “The company has an impressive global footprint and is growing strongly.
“I look forward to being part of a winning team as we grow the business both nationally and internationally.”
The Press and Journal reported yesterday that a sale of RBG appeared to be moving closer.
A spokesman for the firm said that it had entered a “period of exclusivity” with one interested party.
He would not say, however, if this unnamed party could possibly be taking a stake in the firm or buying the business.
RBG employs more than 4,500 people worldwide and its 2010 sales exceeded £300million.
There has been talk about a potential change of ownership since late last year.
There was speculation recently that Dutch group Stork and London-based private-equity player BC Partner were bidders in the frame.
The current RBG shareholders are venture-capital company 3i and Aberdeen marine logistics firm Ashley Group, which each have 50% stakes.
Ashley Group’s majority shareholder is RBG chairman John Ray.
