Wood Group GTS (Gas-Turbine Services) said yesterday it had been awarded a five-year contract in America worth almost £17million.
The contract has been placed by Brick Power Holdings and is for operations and maintenance (O&M) of two electricity generating plants in Maine and Rhode Island.
The O&M contract includes complete care, custody, control and maintenance of both facilities, from the mobilisation/transition stage, which began last October, to the operational phase this year.
GTS, part of Aberdeen-based John Wood Group, said it was selected O&M provider by Brick Power after undergoing a highly competitive selection process.
Michael Leighton, chief executive of Brick Power, said: “Wood Group GTS demonstrated its responsiveness and ability to adapt to the contractual needs of our projects. We look forward to working with them on these critical assets.”
GTS chief executive Mark Papworth said: “Our success has been driven by aligning our goals with those of our customers and engineering specific solutions that mitigate risk and optimise performance of our customers’ facilities.
“We are proud to have been given this vote of confidence by Brick Power and will continue to nurture and grow this relationship by delivering on our commitments.”
Wood Group is an international energy service company employing about 28,000 people worldwide and operating in 50 countries.
It has three businesses – Engineering and Production Facilities, Well Support, and GTS – providing engineering, production support, maintenance management and industrial gas-turbine overhaul and repair services to the oil and gas, and power-generation industries worldwide.
