Organisations and individuals in Scotland’s oil and gas industry are being encouraged to step forward and share their stories of success, while putting themselves in the frame for the Scottish Offshore Achievement Awards 2010.
Now in their 25th year, the accolades showcase and recognise excellence, innovation and achievement throughout the sector.
Organised by Scottish Enterprise (SE) and supported by industry sponsors, they are highly prized and hotly contested.
The 2010 award ceremony and dinner will be held in the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on March 25. SE energy and low-carbon technology director Adrian Gillespie said: “Over the years the ‘oil Oscars’ have honoured some of Scotland’s most innovative and ambitious companies, all of which have helped to shape the landscape of the energy industry in Scotland, the UK and across the world.
“This year’s investment in the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney and the Scottish European Green Energy Centre in Aberdeen further cemented Scotland as a key player in the global energy sphere. There have also been several multimillion-pound investments to upgrade various energy sites across Scotland, including the Energy Technology Centre, at East Kilbride and Energy Park, in Fife.
“The Scottish Offshore Achievement Awards give individuals and companies of all sizes an opportunity to promote themselves and highlight their successes with the wider industry and we are looking forward to celebrating another round of winners in March.”
There are nine award categories: export achievement, internationalisation of Scottish skills, safety, best idea, rising star, small company, success through people, innovation and outstanding contribution.
