GLOBAL plant, lifting and tool rental specialist ATR Group has announced a deal which could add £3million to its turnover over two years.
The Aberdeen firm said it had agreed an exclusive distributorship for the HAVmeter – a hand arm vibration monitoring solution from Reactec.
The HAVmeter is the size of a pager and calculates and record an individual’s vibration exposure.
ATR managing director Keith Moorhouse said: “We saw a huge opportunity in bringing this innovative technology to the UK continental shelf to solve a problem which many of our clients sought a solution to.
“This product is an essential piece of kit to improve health surveillance in the oil and gas sector. Historically, health problems associated with hand arm vibration have been one of the biggest causes of disability and injury claims. Too much exposure to vibration from equipment like grinders, drills and needle guns can cause a range of painful and disabling disorders of the blood vessels, nerves and tendons in the hands and arms.”
