ITF, the industry technology facilitator for the oil and gas industry, has revealed ambitious plans to increase its international reach with new bases in key regions including the US, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
The Aberdeen-based organisation launched its business plan for 2011 – 2015 at a global gathering of its members late November.
Neil Poxon, MD, unveiled bold proposals to increase membership from 27 to 40 organisations by 2015 and significantly increase the funding secured from members to bring more game-changing technologies to market.
ITF aims to open in the Middle East next year and Houston and Asia-Pacific in early 2012, initially employing four additional staff to service these key growth regions.
Poxon said: “The ITF model has been very successful in promoting collaborative research, development and deployment of new technologies and we have our sights set on further global growth.
“We have significantly grown our international membership and to be sustainable it is important that we have offices around the world to represent the spread and diversity of our member companies.”
More than 60 senior figures from oil operators and service companies travelled to Aberdeen from Australia, Malaysia, Kuwait and Europe for last month’s two-day conference.
ITF was launched a decade ago and has successfully secured more than £50million of project investment from its member companies and brought over 150 new technologies to market.
It aims to secure a further £50 million of investment from members to launch 40 joint industry projects per year by 2015.
