NOF Energy has signed what it calls a global partner agreement with the South Africa Oil & Gas Alliance (SAOGA).
SAOGA is the umbrella body for South African suppliers, service providers and international partners working in oil&gas exploration and production.
The two organisations reached the agreement following an initial meeting in Houston during the Offshore Technology Conference and Exhibition in May.
SAOGA recently visited Aberdeen and the north-east of England to meet with NOF Energy members in the technical training sector as part of its focus on education and skills.
NOF says it may now consider a market visit to South Africa accompanied by member companies which could benefit from working with SAOGA and its members.
Established to promote and develop the Western Cape of South Africa, the alliance occupies a strategic geographic position relative to West Africa and is focused on marketing its members principally to the offshore industry in that geographic sector.
South Africa’s upstream industry is reckoned to possess an advanced industrial base and high engineering standards and to be well equipped with a broad base of suppliers and service providers.
Moreover, NOF says South African companies have a proven record through involvement in the region’s own offshore industry.
