FUGRO-ROVTECH Ltd, created as a result of recent growth in the subsea sector, continues to benefit from Fugro’s global strength and long-term approach to investment.
Fugro Survey’s ROV services and subsea construction business joined Rovtech Ltd in January, 2007, to form Fugro-Rovtech Ltd, at the same time opening new office facilities opposite Fugro Survey Ltd on Denmore Road, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
As one of the largest Fugro ROV operating companies, Fugro-Rovtech has seen rapid expansion and draws additional technical, operational and financial support from being part of the Fugro Group of companies. Having a significant worldwide presence and the accompanying stature of a global company, Fugro-Rovtech can attend to clients’ needs in all corners of the world. The Fugro Group operates an extensive network of local offices and facilities, providing a wide array of services to many clients in more than 100 countries.
Despite the changing market conditions, the company continues to invest in people, plant and equipment to ensure that it continues to provide its clients with the very highest level of service.
Fugro-Rovtech employs a large onshore and offshore work force to operate its fleet of ROVs, construction, intervention support, and inspection vessels.
Working together with sister companies in the Fugro Group, the company is able to supply its clients with efficient integrated services at short notice. ROV systems delivered using the latest technology are the product of many years of combined experience and a working knowledge of what clients require the company to reliably deliver.
Operationally, Fugro-Rovtech runs four core business lines: drill support; construction support; tooling and subsea engineering, and inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM).
Gary Craigen heads up its drill support business line and has a team of project managers within the department.
Gary said: “We supply a complete range of ROVs, from small inspection class to large heavy-duty workclass ROVs, which are tailored to meet clients’ specific workscopes and environments.
“The drill support ROVs are supported by our own technical support, in-house tooling and engineering groups, who supply and support a complete range of standard and bespoke tooling. This allows Fugro-Rovtech to provide complete integrated service packages to our clients.”
Fugro-Rovtech’s team of offshore staff and ROV systems are currently operating on exploration drilling, work-over and completions projects in northern Europe, the Mediterranean and offshore West Africa.
Vessel-based operations are presently ongoing in the North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, offshore India and the Falkland Islands.
Although remaining focused on North Sea service provision, the company is particularly aware of overseas opportunities and developments, with new Africa-based contract awards likely to be announced in the near future.
