Energy service firm TCO In-Well Technologies said today it had completed work for Apache North Sea in the Forties field.
It used its glass barrier system to open a well from the Forties Delta platform in a deal thought to be worth a five-figure sum.
TCO said the glass plug was used to isolate the reservoir, allowing Apache to test for integrity before opening the well.
UK sales and marketing manager Rob Grassick said the operation was the second of its kind TCO had carried out in the North Sea in recent months.
“As the company has only been in operation for 19 months, it is a real achievement to have successfully completed this kind of work for such a major company,” he said.
