International energy consultancy Xodus Group has reported a big increase in the provision of services related to subsea power cables.
The number of new orders grew by more than 50% last year, resulting in over 70 active projects.
Aberdeen-based Xodus, which has a total global workforce of over 300, said this allowed it to increase the number of specialists working in subsea cables to more than 30.
James Hunt, interconnectors and cables lead, said: “We are forecasting further growth in this sector.”
