THE search is on for nominations for the Oil & Gas UK Awards, sponsored by Shell UK, which celebrate the people and businesses making an exceptional contribution to the oil and gas industry.
This year there will be a new award in the corporate category for business efficiency, which recognises innovation in the delivery of improved operational performance.
There are individual awards for overall excellence, sponsored by Marathon Oil UK, which recognises outstanding achievement by young people working in the UK offshore oil and gas industry, for young technician of the year, sponsored by OPITO – The Oil & Gas Academy, and for mentoring, sponsored by Chevron Upstream Europe.
Corporate awards will be made for people development, sponsored by Aberdeen University, and for business efficiency.
Malcolm Webb, chief executive of Oil & Gas UK, said: “Following the success of last year’s awards, which saw a record number of nominations, this year will again honour the best of the best in the oil and gas industry, recognising outstanding talent, commitment and entrepreneurial flair.
“To meet the economic and technical challenges presented by the UK’s maturing basin, the North Sea relies not only on the abilities, technical skills and ambitions of the people working in our industry but also on their constructive collaboration to bring about new ideas and innovative ways of working.”
The closing date for entries is August 6.
