Project-management specialist 2020 Business Insight is moving into the US with a base in Houston and plans to rapidly build a multimillion-dollar operation.
The Broughty Ferry company, part of 2020 Business Group, works with firms worldwide, helping staff to develop the skills to deliver projects successfully.
Graham Chapman and Amanda Hardy are heading up the new office, founded on the same model which has resulted in continual growth in the Dundee firm’s UK operation.
Mr Chapman said: “The US is a significant marketplace and we hope that our strategy, backed by our existing work in the region, will see us quickly match and exceed our success in the UK and Europe.
“Our aim is to grow the Houston office, which will be the centre of operations for all of our work in the Americas, to match our UK operation within three years, to more than 16 staff and with a turnover target of $2-$3million (£1.22-£1.83million).
“Houston is the starting point for some of the biggest projects in the international industry, making it a crucial part of our own development plan. It offers us a continuous opportunity for growth.
“We have already gained experience in the region and count major oil and gas companies including Technip, Subsea 7, Acergy, Helix, Wood Group and Weatherford among our clients.”
