SUBSEA oil and gas company TSMarine (Contracting), of Aberdeen, has been awarded a series of contracts worth a total of about £2million to carry out a well abandonment programme for two major operators in the North Sea.
The work is for a number of clients and will see TSMarine use recently-chartered vessel Rem Poseidon to plug and abandon three suspended subsea wells in the southern North Sea. TSMarine will manage the overall project, while also carrying out well reviews, hazardous industry risk assessment and emergency response planning.
In addition, the company will lead work to perforate and cement the wells, and then sever and recover wellheads, at the same time as taking on responsibility for the recovery and disposal of oil-based residues.
Tim Martin, TSMarine’s regional director for Europe and Africa, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded these new contracts, which will allow us to build on the success of the North Sea multi-client well abandonment programme.”
