OTC is a platform for Scottish companies to show off some of the world-beating technology being developed in the country.
This year, more than 50 companies have made the trip to America to exhibit on the Scottish Pavilion, with more using Scottish Development International (SDI) facilities over the week.
SDI’s presence in the US oil capital is not restricted to this event alone. Its fully staffed incubator unit has six companies in it, giving them a toehold in this all-important marketplace.
Our latest annual survey highlights Scottish oil and gas firms achieving more than £4.7billion of export business in 2006-07, representing about 36% of the turnover for the sector.
Our companies are now active in more than 50 countries worldwide.
For us, the focus of this year’s event is to build on this success by highlighting the continuing innovation, technology development and improved services emerging from the North Sea market.
