C-MAR Group yesterday named a chief operating officer to lead its training division.
Peter Aylott has been appointed to the new role at the Aberdeen-based firm to deliver an increased training portfolio.
A navigation specialist, he spent more than 15 years in the Royal Navy, latterly being in charge of the navigation school at HMS Collingwood.
Prior to joining C-MAR, he was director of professional development at the Nautical Institute.
Andrew Macdonald, group operations director, said “Peter’s remit will be to continue the growth and development of the world-leading dynamic-positioning centre training programmes, continuing to advance the group’s fluid power hydraulics training and to develop new services and courses aimed at meeting very specific and complex requirements of the increasingly regulated maritime and offshore industries.
“The training division will play a key role in underpinning our strategy of delivering best in class services across the globe.”
Mr Aylott said: “C-MAR’s extensive training repertoire has extended even further in the last few years and so this is an excellent opportunity for me to bring my widespread education and learning experience to bear within the oil and gas and marine industries.”
