A STALWART of the north-east oil and gas industry has retired after 31 years at drilling contractor KCA Deutag, the firm confirmed yesterday.
Maurice White, a former chief executive at KCA Deutag and drilling operations director for parent Abbot Group, stepped down at the end of March.
His departure was revealed in a document released by Companies House yesterday.
Mr White’s replacement at KCA Deutag as chief operating officer is Brian Taylor, whose appointment was announced in January.
A spokesman for the Aberdeen-based firm said: “Maurice began his career with KCA Deutag in 1977 and has made a very significant contribution to its fortunes.
“Over the period 1995-2008, he led the company through considerable and sustained growth.”
