HOUSTON-BASED crane firm Energy Cranes has experienced rapid growth in the past 18 months.
Since 2007, the business has shown combined growth of 41.5% in its manufacturing, rental, engineering, services, parts and training business.
Graham Thomson was recently appointed its chief operating officer to oversee an aggressive growth plan, which includes the expansion of the crane-manufacturing business and development of its lifting and handling engineering services.
The former international business director for Aberdeen-based sister company Sparrows Offshore Services, Mr Thomson has more than seven years’ business-development experience in regions such as Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Caspian, west Africa and South America.
Since its formation six years ago, Energy Cranes has grown by acquisition, purchasing Louisiana-based crane rental company Dynamic Cranes in 2006 and Marine and Mainland Services in 2007.
