Design and engineering consultant WS Atkins said yesterday its energy business had been buoyant lately.
The company boosted its Aberdeen operation with the acquisition of Finnish company Poyry last year.
Yesterday, it said that the takeover had improved its ability to compete for front-end engineering work in the offshore oil and gas market.
Atkins, which employs around 150 people in the Granite City out of a 17,700 worldwide workforce, added that it had continued to trade in line with expectations since October 1 last year.
The interim management statement also said Atkins was on track to report net funds of more than £100million by the end of its current trading year.
The group employs about 1,100 people in its energy division, including around 600 focused on oil and gas work.
