International oilfield service company Reservoir Group, of Aberdeen, said yesterday it had made another US acquisition.
It has added Oklahoma-based Warren and Christian (W&C) to its portfolio, making it 12 acquisitions by the group since the start of last year.
Reservoir also announced the appointment of Etienne Roux to head up its surface-logging division, Empirica. He is responsible for overseeing the transition of W&C into Empirica and growing the overall business into a surface-logging company recognised around the world.
Mr Roux, who has more than 10 years of oil and gas experience, started his career with Schlumberger as a field engineer. His most recent job was at energy service company Weatherford International, where he managed drilling, formation evaluation and surface logging in the North Sea, continental Europe, the Caspian and sub-Saharan Africa.
W&C, acquired for an undisclosed sum, has decades of experience in the US mudlogging sector and annual turnover of about £4.4million.
It will retain its staff, including a management team led by company president Jack Christian.
Reservoir chief operating officer Wade McCutcheon said: “We have further reinforced our strategy of becoming the surface-logging company of choice for a global client base.”
Backed by Houston-based oil and gas specialist private-equity firm SCF Partners, Reservoir was launched through a £20million management buyout of Corpro in 2007 with the aim of building a global portfolio of related businesses. Since Corpro, it has acquired 19 businesses.
