Aberdeen-headquartered KCA Deutag has won a $multi-million contract with Central European Petroleum of Berlin for drilling onshore EU, initially in northeast Germany.
KCA Deutag will use its T-208 Euro-rig built by subsidiary Bentec on the contract. This follows the successful co-operation established between both parties during CEP’s 2011 drilling campaign executed by sister rig, the T-207.
The latest campaign is due to kick-off in Q2 this year. However, it was not clear at the time of writing which licence will be drilled first. CEP lists found on its website, namely Anklam, Grimmen 2, Ribnitz or Stralsund012.
The company drilled successfully at a location named Pudagla last year.
