Danish company Danbor Service is setting its sights firmly on the North Sea after appointing a chief executive, Kim Christensen, for its Aberdeen-based UK arm.
The oil and gas offshore supply-base, logistics and transport operator has also acquired premises at Altens, in Aberdeen, and taken out a lease for a new operations base at Montrose. Its Altens investment is worth £3million and comes as UK division Danbor Services looks to grow its business in the area.
Mr Christensen said: “The North Sea continues to be a viable and evolving market and one where we will enjoy considerable demand for our services.
“We are making a major investment in the north-east of Scotland and expect to double our staff in the coming year”.
The company, which currently employs 14 people, has secured contracts for long-term storage and is looking for additional space. It already offers several acres of storage space, both inside and outside, which is attracting interest from oil and gas firms such as Maersk Oil and Taqa Bratani.
Mr Christensen said: “We’ve been awarded two major contracts already and have several more projects in the pipeline over the next year.
Danbor – whose UK arm is based at Maersk House, in Aberdeen – operates internationally from bases in Denmark, Scotland and Greenland.
It is part of Danish conglomerate A.P. Moller-Maersk Group.
