EnerMech said yesterday it had been awarded a £6.6million contract by Apache North Sea to supply and instal four new blowout preventer handling cranes on the Forties Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta platforms.
The Aberdeen company’s crane and lifting director John Morrison said: “This is the largest capital equipment order received by EnerMech to date and we are delighted to be working in partnership with Apache to upgrade the Forties assets.” The project, which will deliver four Stahl cranes and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2013, will be serviced by an engineering team from EnerMech’s Aberdeen-based crane division.
