Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority has given semi-state operator Statoil permission to continue to use the Statfjord B platform beyond its design life.
The company had applied for a 20-year lifetime extension for the Statfjord B platform from August 31, 2011. The intention is to utilise the structure for as long as prudent as regards safety, technical, and financial aspects.
Statfjord B is located in the southern part of the Statfjord field in the North Sea.
