GulfMark Offshore has refinanced a loan worth £90million, which the Royal Bank of Scotland said would help the global oil and gas service firm to continue to grow its business in the North Sea.
The new funding package, settled with RBS Corporate and Institutional Banking, extends the previous deal until 2014.
Houston-based GulfMark has one of the largest fleets of offshore support vessels in the North Sea, where it operates off Norway, Denmark, the UK, Netherlands and Ireland.
The company’s global fleet comprises 92 offshore vessels worldwide and it has a large presence in the UK, with more than 600 of its 1,700-strong workforce employed in Aberdeen. Its new financing deal will help to support a construction programme designed to deliver seven vessels for North Sea operations.
