A contract to build new living quarters for Nexen’s Buzzard platform in the North Sea has gone to a yard on Teesside, England.
The offshore division of Hertel, which designed and fitted out the original living quarters on Buzzard, will design and build living quarters for an additional 60 people on the platform.
This will increase the on board capacity to 180 people.
Fabrication has already started at Hertel’s Teesside yard and is thought to have created about 40 jobs.
