Drilling technology and services group NXG Global Group, of Aberdeen, plans to create at least 10 jobs and grow internationally by the end of the year.
The company, which already has bases in Dubai to serve the Middle East market and Thailand to support clients in south-east Asia, said yesterday it was on the hunt for more overseas locations.
It comes hot on the heels of NXG securing American Petroleum Institute (API) 7-1 accreditation – an internationally-recognised certification that boosts the firm’s credentials in the drilling tools manufacturing and repair sector.
Operations director Mark Stephen said: “We see opportunities for growth due to our innovative approach.
“We have been delighted by a rise in the number of inquiries from oilfield service companies in recent weeks.
“There is great scope for further international growth, and we hope to make an announcement on that soon.”
NXG’s tool rental division operates out of Altens, Aberdeen, while service, repair and manufacturing is run from a one-acre site at Longside, near Peterhead.
The group – controlled by chief executive Rod Coffey – currently employs 25 people, with recruitment plans expected to add six more in Aberdeen and four in Longside.
More than £2 million has been invested by the company in facilities and infrastructure over the past three years, including money spent on new handling technology at the Longside base.
