Industrial-cleaning and environmental-waste management specialist MSIS Group said yesterday it was continuing its rapid growth after its turnover increased by 50% in 2011.
MSIS, which has operations at Invergordon, Inverurie and Ghana, said it turned over £9.6million last year, up from £6.4million during 2010.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) rose by 40% to £1.6million last year, the company added.
MSIS said its international operation played a key role in driving the group’s success, accounting for 20%, or £2million, of overall turnover.
MSIS, which last year employed about 60 people, said its onshore business benefited from higher levels of industrial-cleaning activity and new contracts boosted work offshore.
Chairman Chris Lloyd said: “Scottish Enterprise has also been a huge help in assisting us with our strategy.”
The company aims to build on this growth through further expansion in west Africa, where it will use its Ghanaian base as a strategic hub. It has work getting under way in neighbouring Ivory Coast next month.
The firm moved its north-east operation recently to Kirkwood Commercial Park at Inverurie from Sauchen.
