Energy service firm Specialist Subsea Services (S3) added another vessel to its fleet yesterday.
The Aberdeen-based provider of remotely operated vehicle and survey services has taken on the Reef Larissa after its parent, Reef Subsea, agreed a five-year charter with Neptune Subsea.
Reef has also chartered the Reef Despina from the same company.
Graeme Kidd, managing director of S3, said the Reef Larissa was S3’s first inspection, maintenance and repair and subsea-construction vessel. He added that it would put the firm in a stronger position to support offshore operations in the North Sea, Europe and Africa.
Meanwhile, Westhill-based SeaHold Geoships held an open day on its Loch Roag vessel at Aberdeen harbour. It took on the vessel for five years, at a cost of about £22million, earlier this month.
